Get to Know Dr. Don Ives MD, DABVLM, RPVI, RVT

Dr. Ives attended Westmont College before earning his medical degree from the University of North Carolina - School of Medicine, where he received the UNC - School of Medicine Dameron Award in recognition of his commitment to practicing primary care in underserved areas. After graduating from medical school, he completed his residency and an internship at Boise Family Practice Medical Center before continuing to complete a fellowship in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Rural Training.

Although Dr. Ives was focused on family medicine initially, he decided to concentrate on helping those with vein disease when he realized the impact vein health had on patients’ overall well-being. As a result, he established his practice — Laser Vein Center of Alaska — in 2007. In 2019, he partnered with the Center for Vein Restoration, resulting in one of Center for Vein Restoration’s first locations in the state.
