It’s so much fun whipping up a delicious and quick smoothie, especially when it’s packed with vein-healthy fruits and veggies. This carrot, banana, and berry smoothie is a favorite because it is loaded with the fiber and antioxidants our veins and circulatory system need to thrive. Plus, these fruits and veggies are normally available at farmers’ markets, so you can take advantage of fresh-grown, organic produce.
While carrots have a huge reputation for improving eye health, their fiber and potassium are known for preventing cardiovascular disease and lowering blood pressure, which puts less strain on your veins.
Bananas also have potassium, and magnesium. Magnesium is great for calming irritated legs and symptoms of restless leg syndrome, which are normally present in varicose vein patients.
And we can’t tout enough the benefits of antioxidant-filled berries! They provide so much protection to your veins by strengthening the vein walls and can even repair some damage. Most berries contain the powerful antioxidant rutin, which is shown to help treat varicose veins.
We also love adding a scoop of collagen powder to this smoothie, since collagen can further fortify our vein walls and prevent leakage.
Enjoy this tasty recipe, and don’t forget to move around and get that blood pumping!
