Vein Treatment for Men

by Vein Treatment Forum

Do your leg cramps or pain get in the way of your workouts or other everyday activities? About 80 million people in the United States suffer from vein disease, with 30 percent affecting men. Whether you are experiencing nightly cramps or pain that affects your day to day life, you are probably a good candidate for vein treatment!

Luckily, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Vein disease can often cause discomfort and painful physical side effects, like aches, cramps, swelling and burning. The most common vein conditions are:

  • Leg Veins: A poor circulatory system can lead to leg pain and in turn, painful varicose veins. If you find that leg cramps are keeping you up at night or getting in the way of your workouts or day to day life, you could have varicose veins in your legs.
  • Varicose Veins are dark, raised, unsightly veins near the surface of the skin. Varicose veins usually occur on the legs.
  • Spider Veins are fine, colored blood vessels at the surface of the skin in the face and the legs.
  • Facial Veins are small, visible, broken capillaries or tiny spider veins on the surface of the skin.
  • Nose Veins: If you have redness in the skin around your nose, you probably have tiny, dilated spider veins.

Vein Treatment AfterTHERE IS HELP AVAILABLE! Vein treatment for both spider and varicose veins is increasing in the healthcare and cosmetic medicine industries. While sclerotherapy is the most popular vein treatment for spider veins and small varicose veins, laser vein removal is effective for treating colored or unsightly varicose veins on the skin’s surface. Surgical vein removal is the best option for severe varicose veins. The most common vein treatments are:

  • Endovenous Laser Treatment is a simple, minimally invasive laser vein procedure that requires no complicated surgery or hospital stay. A small fiber optic is inserted into the varicose vein and when activated, the device heats and seals off the unwanted vein, causing the blood to reroute to healthier veins once closed.
  • Facial Vein Removal: Sometimes, capillaries in facial areas like the nose, eyes, neck or cheeks become red. Sclerotherapy injections are usually the best way to neutralize and break down these facial veins, but laser vein treatments are also available to help burn the broken capillaries.
  • Laser Vein Removal is an advanced, noninvasive treatment that lessens or gets rid of spider veins in the legs and face. The physician directs laser light at the vein cluster, targeting the blood vessel underneath the skin without harming surrounding tissue. The intense laser light heats the nonessential blood vessel, causing blood to clot and the vessel lining to deteriorate. Advanced technology helps reduce or remove the vein without affecting the skin’s outer layer.
  • Sclerotherapy uses injections of a sclerosing agent to dissolve and remove small spider veins. The physician injects the agent into the vein, using a tiny needle. The solution then displaces the blood in the vein, causing it to turn white. The treatment eliminates the veins and reduces many of the physical symptoms.
